Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 110 - Come Fly with me

Viv is hosting today's challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and more...  and the theme is 'Come Fly With Me'.

She would like to see either birds or something bird related, ie birdcages/houses, as the MAIN focal point of your project.

I am still trying to make sure I use old stash for every card, and the main part of my card today is part of some backing paper I have had for some time.

I kept my card very plain - just ordinary black cardstock as the base.  I cut down the backing paper to the size I wanted, and stamped the sentiment (from Creative expressions in the top left hand corner), then matted it onto some gold mirri card.

I then matted this topper onto the base card.

Finally, I used some white grosgrain ribbon with stitching detail that I had in my stash across the top right and left bottom of the card base, finishing off with a two loop bow made out  of the same ribbon.

I haven't put a greeting on the outside of this card, but I think I am going to use it as a Get Well card for a friend of mine who is having a rough time of it at the moment.

DI'S DIGISTAMPS
With a $12 gift voucher

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like-minded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!
